The most important issue I hear from constituents is their concern with the high cost of health care. As a mother, and a daughter with aging parents, I understand that when your child is sick, or when you get that call that your parent has a medical emergency, the last thing you want to worry about is how you are going to pay for their care. Too many families in our community face unreasonable insurance premiums or have been hit with sticker shock with medical bills they can’t afford.
I have made it my priority to champion reforms to address the exceedingly high cost of healthcare in our region. I voted to make surprise billing illegal and to institute price transparency laws so that it will be easier to know the cost of your procedures ahead of time. I voted for insurance reforms that have now lowered health insurance rates - by as much as 20% - for peope who are buying their own insurance.
I know there is more work to be done. And I will continue to fight to ensure that you have quality care, close to home, that you can afford.
I’m Barb Haley and I’m working to lower your health care costs. On Tuesday, Nov. 6th, I ask for your vote.
Barb Haley, our Representative.
